The house
FRAQAIR is a made-to-measure house between Milan and Lake Como. One silk wedding dress, cut by hand in small numbers, in our own atelier — for women marrying far from home.
Most of our brides live in the United States, the United Kingdom or Australia, and they marry all over the world — on Lake Como, on the Amalfi Coast, in a garden at home. The dress is made in Milan and sent to them: measuring and fittings happen by video, in their own time zone, and the finished gown is delivered wherever the wedding is.

Made to Move
I grew tired of eveningwear that asked a woman to stand still — heavy, rigid gowns built for one room and one night. So I make the opposite: a dress cut from natural silk that folds into almost nothing and falls open the moment you arrive.
Everything begins at Lake Como — the light on the water, silk caught in the breeze off the lake. The dress starts as a sketch on my table and is cut in the atelier under my hands.
I don't sell from a rail. I take your measurements, and I keep them. That is how the dress made for your wedding becomes the one you wear for years afterwards.

Ordering a wedding dress from abroad
The dress is made in Milan and comes to you. Measuring and fittings happen by video, in your own time zone — and if you can visit the atelier, all the better. Everything else happens from where you are.
12–18 months before
We talk, wherever you are. A video consultation in your own time zone — your venue, the season, the light. I sketch from that.
9–12 months before
Your measurements are taken, in Milan or remotely in a guided session. Either way they enter the archive and stay there.
4–6 months before
The toile, fitted on your site visit. One appointment, attached to the trip you were making anyway. The lake is forty minutes away.
14–18 weeks in the atelier
Silk chosen, cut, sewn and finished by hand in small numbers. You see it as it is built, not as a surprise at the end.
The week of
Delivered and fitted at your villa or hotel. No shipping crate, no unknown seamstress, no alterations bill you did not expect.

An Italian atelier between Milan and Lake Como
Every FRAQAIR piece is made in Italy. I design and cut; a small circle of sarte and embroiderers builds each one. Nothing is made before it is ordered.

I know the rooms your dress will walk through
I live and work on this lake. I have photographed weddings on its terraces, arrived at them by boat, waited out its afternoon wind and its evening light. A gown made here is cut for the heat of a July terrace and the walk down a villa's steps — not guessed at from a studio ten thousand kilometres away.

Commissioning a wedding dress from another continent
Yes — most FRAQAIR brides do. The dress is made in Milan and shipped worldwide. The consultation and measuring happen by video in your own time zone, the fittings are done remotely — or in person at the atelier if you can travel — and the finished gown is delivered to you, wherever the wedding is.
Fourteen to eighteen weeks in the atelier, from cutting to final finishing. With design, measuring and fittings, brides usually begin twelve to eighteen months before the wedding. The atelier closes its book for the following summer in February.
No. Measurements are taken remotely in a guided session and the toile is fitted by video, so the whole dress can be made without your leaving home. You are welcome at the atelier if you would like to come — and if your wedding is in Italy, one visit folds easily into your venue trip, since the lake is forty minutes away. All fittings and alterations are included; there is no separate alterations bill.
The Signature dress is the house silhouette, cut to your measurements, from €3,900. Bespoke is drawn from nothing — silhouette, silk and detail decided with me alone — from €6,000. Both are made by hand in Milan, for you.
Yes. The robes are cut from the same Como silk as the gowns — from €450 for the bride, €300 for each of the party — ordered as a set to your sizes. They are usually the first thing brides commission, and the piece the getting-ready morning is photographed in.
Yes. Every gown and robe is made in Milan and sent worldwide, fully insured, in packaging built to protect silk. Delivery is timed to the week you need it — to your home, or to your hotel or villa if you are marrying away — with duties for destinations outside the EU explained up front, so nothing is a surprise on arrival.
Your measurements and pattern stay in the archive, so a piece can be cut for you afterwards without a single fitting, ordered from wherever you are.
